Cheddar Bacon Pork Chops

Since moving to our little small town a month ago I have been cooking almost every night.  There is absolutely no fast food, which I am so HAPPY about!
We have gone out to dinner at a restaurant 4 times, picked up a pizza once, and two nights ago when we drove into a bigger town an hour away we treated ourselves to Hardees(Carls Jr.), other than that we have had a home cooked meal every night, made by me!

I've been trying to be creative and try new things.

A couple weeks ago I was shopping and stumbled across these seasoning packages with cheese and breadcrumbs and decided to get a couple to see how they were.

Oh my goodness was dinner ever YUMMY!!!

Here's what I bought:

I got this one and the Cheddar Bacon one too.

I forgot to take a picture before of the Cheddar one but this is what the packaging looks like if you want to try them.

I used pork chops when I made the Cheddar Bacon one.

All you do is dip your meat into water, one piece at a time.
Then put it into the bag with the cheese and breadcrumb mix.
(I shook the bag around real good before)
The first piece the mix didn't stick on very well so the 2nd piece I squooshed my hands around the bag to try to get it on really good.  It helped to coat it much better when I did that.
Just lay them out on a cookie sheet and bake them following the instructions on the package.

They were  nice and crispy on the outside and the seasonings were so good!
The meat was tender and the chesse under the crispy goodness was soft.
We really enjoyed these!
I had a lot of fun making dinner too.
Another great thing was there was no mess!!!  ;)  I hate cleaning!

I served ours with green beans and roasted potatoes.
My mouth is watering seeing these pictures!

These are seriously one of my new favorite things to use to make dinner!!
I can't wait to try the Italian Parmesan.

Let me know if you try them!  I'd love to hear what you think.

Game Night Date Night

Sometimes the general Dinner and a Movie date tends to get old and can be very expensive.  Yes, it’s nice to get dressed up and go out for a date but sometimes you just want to stay home and spend some time together.

Instead of spending over $25.00 just to go to the movies why not spend that money towards the purchase of a board game that you can play over and over again?

Here are some of the most popular games to play with two people:

Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man

Dat-ing    [deyt-ing]
 verb, dat·ed, dat·ing.
1. to go out socially on dates: She dated a lot during high school.
2. to make a date with; go out on dates with: He's been dating his best friend's sister.

“The key to successful dating is ... rather than focusing solely on finding and winning over that one and only right person, use this time in your life to learn about yourself and about relationships and to become a better partner. Being single can offer a unique advantage in the pursuit of good relationships. You have the opportunity to step back, take an inventory, learn and grow, and be far more ready for a healthy relationship. Instead of leaping headlong into the next romance, slow down and make some personal discoveries that will increase your chances of having your future relationships be more successful”. NINA ATWOOD, Be Your Own Dating Service

Dating to me is when you are getting to know someone to see if you are compatible and enjoy each other’s company doing various activities or just talking, or not saying anything at all...  I think the right time to start dating is when you are in a good place in all aspects of your life and you are ready to find someone to share your life with.  Timing is everything and if you are not in a good place you are setting yourself up for failure.  No one wants to date someone who is emotionally unstable or who has a ton of baggage they need to unpack and sort out.  I personally think it’s a waste of time to date until you’ve got your s#*t together.  Excuse my language but that’s the only way to put it.  I have been on countless dates where all these BOYS weren’t even looking for a relationship.  All they wanted was to find someone to sleep with.  Sorry dudes peace out!  My tip for dating- value yourself, put yourself and your needs first and know what you are looking for.  What qualities are most important to you?  What do you want?  Are you ready for marriage?  Do you want kids?  Is smoking a major turn off?  Do NOT settle!!  Your ideal partner IS out there, you just have to keep looking.  Don’t waste your time either.  If you are dating this super hot guy but he smokes or is extremely rude to people while you’re out you need to take a step back and listen to your instincts.  Don’t waste your time and go on another date with them.  Why would you??  My favorite book on dating is Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man by Steve Harvey.  Men, sorry not sure if this book will be helpful for you but ladies go out and buy a copy or check it out from your local Library and READ IT!!  I struggled for a long time with dating, wasting so much time with loser guys who treated me badly.  This book helped open my eyes to all the stupid stuff I put myself through. It was my own fault for allowing them to treat me the way they did.  After reading the book I changed my style of dating and made sure if there was some flag that went off while on the date that was something that was important to me that I didn’t waste my time going on another date with them.  Why torture yourself?

Summa Time!

Along with Summer comes sunshine and the outdoors.
Two of my favorite things are bike riding and kayaking at the beach.
Throughout Long Beach there are plenty of places to ride your bikes.  You can also take bike paths to neighboring beach cities like Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, or even as far south as the Balboa Peninsula.  No matter where you go you can enjoy some shopping or grab a bite to eat along the way.

My favorite spot for kayaking is at the Alamitos Bay.  I rent my kayak from Kayak Rentals.  For only $9/hour it’s an inexpensive and fun way to enjoy a sunny day.  Your feet and butt will get wet so come prepared!  Get a Map from them of the area and if the Moon Jelly’s are out I recommend going over to see them!  Also the staff is mostly a bunch of young kids so their customer service isn't the greatest.  Make sure to ask them for help getting in and out of the kayak and ASK for a BACKREST, make sure they put it in correctly too or your experience won’t be as enjoyable!

Kayak Rentals, look for the little hut.
