Along with Summer comes sunshine and the outdoors.
Two of my favorite things are bike riding and kayaking at the beach.
Throughout Long Beach there are plenty of places to ride your bikes. You can also take bike paths to neighboring beach cities like Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, or even as far south as the Balboa Peninsula. No matter where you go you can enjoy some shopping or grab a bite to eat along the way.
My favorite spot for kayaking is at the Alamitos Bay. I rent my kayak from Kayak Rentals. For only $9/hour it’s an inexpensive and fun way to enjoy a sunny day. Your feet and butt will get wet so come prepared! Get a Map from them of the area and if the Moon Jelly’s are out I recommend going over to see them! Also the staff is mostly a bunch of young kids so their customer service isn't the greatest. Make sure to ask them for help getting in and out of the kayak and ASK for a BACKREST, make sure they put it in correctly too or your experience won’t be as enjoyable!
